In our 10 years of traveling, we’ve fine-tuned what works for us as travelers. We strike a healthy balance (at least I think) between the minimalists who travel for two weeks with one shirt and one pair of pants and two pairs of underwear, and maximalists who go for a week with six pairs of shoes, three outfit changes a day, and whatever else they can cram into a full-sized suitcase (or two). We fit everything into our carry-on backpack, and travel for 2-3 weeks within that. We have our checklist of necessities for long-haul flights in economy. We know what we need to bring versus what we can get when we land.
We’ve got it down to a science, so learn from our broken luggage wheels, aching backs, and string of curses so you don’t have to go through the same frustrations!
